We all have that one ad that either made us laugh, cry or sit back and take note. New Zealand is well known for making some of the best adverts in the industry as we have very creative, forward-thinking people here in Godzown. I've put together 10 of our favourite adverts that really resonated with us.

    1. Ghost Chips

Who can forget the famous Anti Drink Driving "Ghost Chip" Advert?

    2. Mr Frosty and the BMX kid

Even though this isn't necessarily an advert and more a mini short film, it's still so popular with Kiwi's and showcases the talent and beautiful scenery in New Zealand.

    3. Lotto "Imagine" Armoured truck

First time I saw this it made me cry. I still stop everything I'm doing and watch it with a smile on my face. Just Imagine, a very clever advert.

    4. Bugger "Toyota Hilux"

Quintessential New Zealand humour at its finest. The Bugger ad was eventually banned but still a firm favourite of many Kiwi's.

    5. Great Crunchie Train Robbery

One of New Zealand's longest running ad's, it was shown on the screen for over 20 years. Kiwis almost felt like the UK born hokey pokey treasure was ours. Take a trip down memory lane.

    6. McDonalds Timeless Grandpa Ad

I feel this ad touches a nerve with parents especially. First time I saw it, my own childhood memories emerged of time with my grandparents as well as the guilt of kids spending too much time on electronic devices. I smile watching it, very clever.

    7. Speights The Dance

Alcohol, men and dancing don't normally go together but we all know and love the creative geniuses behind the iconic Speights ads. This ad definitely lives up to its name.

    8. DIY Kids Mitre 10

A firm favourite with all kiwis this ad has it all. The friendly Aussie/Kiwi rivalry still going strong.

    9. Tip Top Trumpet ad with Rachael Hunter

Can't beat a Trumpet. Summer, Ice Cream, beach fun and friends, Oh and Rachael Hunter. Whats more Kiwi than that!

    10. Blazed Drug-Driving in Aotearoa

As funny as this ad is, it does have a more serious message to it. Addressing the problem of Drug driving in New Zealand. Great little actors playing the parts of their dads perfectly.

We hope you enjoyed taking a trip down memory lane, I know we did.

What about the “two moons” possum ad. “How are you feeling?”
    “Bit run downn actually”
