7 Mothers Day Gift Ideas That Support Local NZ Businesses

Mothers Day 2020 is going to be a bit different this year, but there's no reason to not make it extra special for your mum.

It's been a hard and challenging time for everyone but as a mum of four young children, it's been extra challenging trying to juggle homeschooling, running an online business, keeping the house running smoothly and ensuring everyone is happy and healthy.

It's a juggling act. We all deserve a bit of extra love and pampering this year.

It may not be possible to get to the shops, but this year why not support local NZ small businesses who are doing it tough and give your mum something special and unique. We've put together a list of some awesome options.

Gift Vouchers - Give her a gift voucher for a meal at her favourite local restaurant or cafe. You'll not only be helping out a small local business but it will give her something to look forward to when we go down to level 2.

Cupcakes Delivered - If you aren't a domestic goddess in the kitchen, check out the long list of local and very talented NZ businesses who specialise in cakes and gorgeous cupcakes. You will make your mum feel very spoilt when she gets a delivery of delicious treats. My favourite is the very talented Sweet Bites Cakes here in Auckland. They have contactless pickup and delivery options available.

Flowers - Find your local florist who will no doubt be doing it tough and pick up a beautiful bunch of flowers for your mum or get some delivered. Who doesn't love flowers!

Nappy Bag(For new expectant mums) - I can't imagine the anxiety new and expectant mums must be going through right now. Being pregnant brings with it a whole wave of emotions and to add COVID 19 into it must be very overwhelming. Give her something she needs and wants like a beautiful Nappy Backpack.

Voucher for a haircut - It's been almost 7 weeks of no haircuts or any beauty treatments which I'm sure everyone is missing. Hats are probably making an appearance when out and about to ver the regrowth lol. Give your mum a voucher to her favourite salon so she can treat herself to a makeover once they are open again.
