Over one billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown away each year in America alone, imagine how many that is spread across the population of the world. It really makes you think that we should be considering an alternative solution to an important daily ritual.
Bamboo Toothbrushes are a great alternative to the standard plastic toothbrushes that also normally arrive encased in extra plastic packaging. It is advised by Dental Associations to replace your toothbrush every 3 months, this is the same for Bamboo Toothbrushes.
Bamboo is very sustainable, it requires no fertilizer and self-regenerates from its own roots, just one of the many great reasons to switch to a Bamboo Toothbrush.
Bamboo is a natural material, over time in landfills it will break down due to natural processing. Or better still you can reuse your Bamboo Toothbrush in many cool ways.
If you are a keen gardener they are fantastic to use in and around the garden. Carefully remove the bristles and write the name of a plant, herb or vegetable you have planted. Easy and pleasing to the eye.
Remove the bristles and use as craft sticks for the kids. Let them use their imagination and create wonderful and cool things. Little Bamboo wooden houses are great and photo frames.
They also make great cleaning brushes to use on tiles, grout and the hard to reach corners in bathrooms. Just remember to label them and keep them in the cleaning bucket.
They also make great nail brushes, much more comfortable and easier to hold than standard nail brushes.
If you decide to make the switch you won't be disappointed, it makes so much more sense to be using a sustainable resource instead of throwaway plastic toothbrushes. They also look great and I've found kids love them as you can write their names on them which they love.
