The art of babywearing is nothing new, its been practiced for centuries in countries around the world. In some countries a baby hardly touches the ground until they are a toddler instead carried close to their mum at all times.

It's been proven that both mum and baby benefit immensely from babywearing well into the toddler years. A baby has spent 9 months being carried around and then is expected to be left alone in a bouncer or bassinet. Makes more sense to carry them in a sling to provide them the feeling of contentment and calmness.

We have listed some other benefits of babywearing:

It's a great bonding experience for not only the mum and baby but Dad's also benefit from the closeness feeling you get from wearing your baby.

You can breastfeed discreetly anywhere, anytime while carrying your baby in a sling. Holding your baby close to your body can also increase your milk supply as babies will feed more.

Babies who are carried in slings are often calmer and fuss less as they feel content and nurtured. Having a baby that is less fussy will reduce the anxiety and stress for mums. Making the whole family environment calmer.

We tend to spend most of our time working out how to make the baby sleep longer by itself in its own bed, when for 9 months they've become used to being carried around in a dark, quiet place with mum. Carrying your baby in a sling allows the baby to nap when they need to and they also get used to the world around them. Enjoying the same activities you do means you have to entertain them less and this creates more confident content toddlers as they grow.

Being able to get on with daily activities and chores while carrying your baby allows life to go on without too much impact.

The gentle movement mimics the feeling of being in the womb, especially in those early months. This has been proven to calm babies and make them cry less and become a lot more contented in life.

Using a sling wrap can also help with digestion problems such as colic as the baby is held in an upright position. This helps the milk and stomach acid stay down, creating less gas.

Babies are happier when held close. They become secure, happy toddlers  as they feel more content and safe within themselves.

Babies who are carried in a sling are proven to cry less than non carried babies. They love the motion they've become used to for 9 months.

There's less need to take a stroller places as babies can nap on you. This is especially good for busy places like the shops, markets, school runs and family day outs.

Wearing your baby during the "Witching Hour" is another great sanity saver. You can prepare dinner for the family or do other activities at this time of night instead of pulling your hair out with a screaming baby.

Wearing your baby daily can also burn extra calories. WINNING
