NUNA RAVA Review NZ 2023

Today's blog post is the Nuna Rava review NZ 2023 and is written personally from my experience having a baby and buying the Nuna Rava car seat.  That's Skye, my newborn baby, safely in her Nuna Rava 1 day after being born.  Her big brother 11 is looking on in amazement.  We were a family of 3 boys before this.

As the owner of Godzown General Store and mum of four children, I've had my fair share of experience with car seats and other baby products. When we found ourselves pregnant with baby number four in 2018 (a surprise was an understatement) we took it as a great opportunity to use all the baby products we sell in the store to better help our customers.

It's actually why we don't have a huge range in our store.  We in most cases sell what we use and think is the best product for your baby.

With all the great feedback on the NUNA RAVA Car Seat, we get I was so excited to personally try it. From the unboxing (which felt like Xmas) to the simple no fuss install, I'll discuss it all in this honest review.

Nuna Rava 2023 NZ Unboxing

If you are pregnant and own a car then the chances are you are shopping around for a car seat. With so many options on the market, it can feel overwhelming. For me personally, safety was a huge priority for our baby as we do a lot of driving. 

Simple no fuss install

Installing car seats should not be stressful or a battle you have every time you need to switch it over to your partner's car or take it out for whatever reason. The NUNA RAVA convertible car seat literally takes minutes to install. Place in the car rear-facing and lift up the insert as shown in the image.

 Pass through the seat belt, click in place and replace the cover. Choose the correct recline position and you're done.

Ten position recline

This is my favourite feature of the NUNA RAVA car seat. Choose from one of five reclining positions for rear-facing to suit your brand new newborn baby right up to two years. It is recommended that you keep your child rear-facing until this age for safety reasons. The NUNA RAVA allows you to do this. When you are ready to forward face you have another 5 position recline options. The last one is fully upright to suit an older child, approximately 4 years old. My past car seats for my older children have not had this great feature, resulting in their heads flopping forward while they slept which is not good for anyone.

Newborn padded insert

I chose to not use a capsule with my fourth baby and use the NUNA RAVA right from day one. I couldn't be more happy with our decision. She decided to enter the world at 37 weeks and weighed only 6lbs 8oz, tiny little bundle. When it came to the drive home she fit perfectly in the NUNA RAVA Car seat with the help of the padded newborn insert which was included. The straps fit perfectly and to be absolutely honest with myself I felt slightly guilty that I had taken my older children home in other car seats that didn't have the same secure safe feeling. (They were also premature babies and on the small side)

It's simple to clean the NUNA RAVA

The simple answer is yes. At the moment I've only had to spot clean our NUNA RAVA as I don't allow her to eat in her car seat. I know this may change as she gets older, I'm not a perfect mum and I may give her snacks on a long car journey to keep the peace when she gets older and it's good to know that the fabrics are machine washable. Do not wash the support wedge that you use when your baby is newborn, this is best to spot clean.

The NUNA RAVA will grow with your baby

The last thing you want to be doing is spending more money on a new car seat when your baby turns into a toddler. Children literally grow like weeds. It's easy to adjust the NUNA RAVA with each growth spurt. Remove the newborn inserts around 3 months or sooner depending on the weight of your little one. I love the one handle height adjustable system. So simple and easy to adjust with your growing child.
