    Firstly Congratulations.......

Whether this is your first, second, third or fourth baby it's always an exciting time. After you get over the first 12 weeks which is normally filled with morning sickness, worry and the realisation that your life is about to change (for the better) it's time to start shopping for some essentials.

The baby market is flooded with cool things for you and your baby, but the question is "Do you really need some of them?"

We've put together a great list of 10 must-have products that will make your life easier and happier. Put your feet up and enjoy.

    1) Nappy Bag

You will not leave the house without one. In those first few months with a new baby, you need to be prepared for anything. Your nappy bag should be able to hold multiple outfits, 6 to 10 nappies, wipes, bottles, wraps plus your own belongings such as your wallet and phone. A good nappy bag should be easily accessible preferably with a large fish mouth opening. You will often have only one hand free. Nappy Backpacks are great for having both hands free while holding your baby. Our Sienna Nappy Backpack is not our Number One Best Seller for nothing. Link here

    2) Nursing Cover

If you've decided not to breastfeed it's still a great idea to get a good multi-use nursing cover. One that can be used in numerous ways and packs away in your bag will become a godsend. We love the Breastfeeding Multi-use nursing Cover which is available in four great chevron patterns. Link here

Great for feeding in private, using as a sunshade, stylish scarf, shopping trolley cover the list goes on.

    3) Car Seat

This is one of, if not the most important purchase you will make for your baby. Safety for your baby is paramount. You also want to think about how easy it is to install (or better still get a professional to do it). Does it grow with your child? Will it fit in with your lifestyle. We highly recommend the Nuna Rava Car Seat. Check it out here for more details.

    4) Dryer Balls

Once your baby comes along you will be doing a lot more washing. It's amazing how someone so small can create so much laundry. Depending on the time of year you may need to use your dryer more often. To help cut down your drying time we highly recommend using Natural Wool Dryer Balls link here this will also save you money in the long run.

    5) Bamboo Nursing Reusable Breast Pads

These superior reusable nursing pads are designed to fit inside your bra to help with leakage and spillage during breastfeeding. Made from Bamboo fibre they are super thin and soft. Super absorbent while not feeling bulky. Best of all they are sustainable and be used again and again. Link here

    6) Wet Bag

A wet bag is a great addition to your nappy bag. Soiled nappies, clothes, wipes and other wet items and can be neatly stored while out and about. They also come in handy if you are going on quick outings and only require a nappy, a few wipes and creams. Link here

    7) Belly Belt

During pregnancy, a lot of pressure is put on your hips and lower back. Most women do experience some discomfort in these areas. Wearing a fully adjustable belly support belt to accommodate abdominal growth throughout pregnancy may help ease the discomfort. Always seek medical advice if you have severe pain. Link here

    8) 100% Cotton Muslin Swaddle

Swaddled babies tend to sleep longer than babies who are not swaddled. Using a large 100% Organic cotton 2 layer muslin swaddle will help keep your baby happy, protected and comfortable. They can be used as baby swaddles, stroller cover, breastfeeding modesty covers, light summer blankets or even a scarf for Mum. 9) Bamboo Nursing Pads

The first few days after giving birth can be tender and sore down below. You may also bleed for a few days afterwards which is perfectly normal. Using a soft Bamboo reusable nursing pad is a must. You can also keep one in the fridge/freezer to give yourself some much-needed relief. Link here

    10) Baby Carrier

Top of my list for the most important baby item is a good Baby front pack or sling. Or both. You will be carrying your baby around a lot and need to consider these things. Are your hands-free to do other things? Is your neck, back and shoulders protected from strain and injury. Babywearing has been a popular tradition for hundreds of years. It can make your baby feel more secure and happy and help with the bonding experience. Having an ergonomic and versatile front pack will be a godsend as your baby grows into an infant and toddler.
